   pH - Potential Of Hydrogen

The pH scale runs from 0-14 with 7.0 be a neutral pH and with a pH of 6.4 to 6.8 being the most suggested when considering your biological terrain first thing in the morning (urine & saliva) - it will change to alkaline numbers throughout the day with 7.0 - 7.8 being the norm a couple hours after eating.*

  What Is Hydrogen
Hydrogen (H) is the lightest and simplest element.  A Hydrogen atom is made up of one proton and one electron.  At room temperature, Hydrogen is gas - as it cools it becomes liquid.  Hydrogen is one of 9 essential macronutrients and is a major component of organic molecules.  Hydrogen supplies building blocks of all organisms whether plant, animal or human.  Each water molecule contains two Hydrogen molecules and one Oxygen molecules (H20).*
pH Definition
In chemistry, the degrees of acidity or alkalinity of a substance are expressed in pH values.  The neutral point, where a solution would be neither acid nor alkaline is pH 7.  Increasing acidity is expressed as a number less than 7, and increasing alkalinity is a number great than 7.  Maximum acidity is pH 0 and maximum alkalinity is pH 14.  Because each unit on the scale represents a logarithm, there is 10-fold difference between each unit (pH 5 is 10 times as acid as pH 6 and pH 4 is 100 times as acid as pH 6.  Expressed mathematically, pH is logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration divided into one - Log 1/H+

An acid is a substance that releases hydrogen into a solution.   An alkaline substance is one that removes hydrogen from a solution.  Most body functions occur at only certain levels of acidity or alkalinity, as well as, many enzymes and chemical reactions work best at a specific pH.  A minute change in pH can have a profound effect on body function.*

Ideal pH Values
When pH = 8:  There are 6 billion H+ ions in solution
When pH = 7:  There are 60 billion H+ ions in solution
When pH = 6:  There is 600 billion H+ ions in solution

Ideal pH Values Of The Blood, Urine And Saliva
 Arterial Blood - 7.40 - 7.45
 Capillary - 7.35 - 7.45
 Venous - 7.30 - 7.35
 Saliva - 6.5
 Urine - 6.8
